The term Metanoesis is typically associated with the turning over of the personality base that occurs as a result of a religious, or spiritual experience. In the awakening and enlightenment that Metanoesis describes, all separation between self and other, subject and object, dissolves, yielding a reconfigured sense of identity. The following definition from Dr. Greg Tucker beautifully captures the nondual essence of a Metanoetic conversion from that of a separate self living, to an extension of the absolute being lived:
"Metanoesis describes the shift from our attachment to the fiction we are the people we insist we are, to the truth that Mind is dreaming 'everything' just the way it manifests, including, and in particular, that, as dreamers in that dream, we will use time to play the part of 'real people'."
